Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Anderson, Josh [RFA Rights]
  2. Savard, David
Additional Details:
David Savard is exactly the type of defenseman the Leafs need. This trade would only go down if an extension could be agreed upon this offseason, otherwise it is not worth giving up Nylander. Josh Anderson could use a change of scenery and would bring speed in the absence of Nylander.
CBJ
  1. Nylander, William
Additional Details:
Columbus has been looking for a skilled top-six forward for a long time.
2.
TOR
  1. 2020 2nd round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Toronto receives cap relief and a high second-rounder.
SJS
  1. Johnsson, Andreas
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
San Jose needs young talent with not much coming through the pipeline. And with Burns, Karlsson, and Vlasic not getting any younger, these two forwards should bring much needed skill up front.

Nope, not trading nylander for a nearly 30 year old defender who is looking for a retirement contract next year.
And Anderson has minimal value

these trades make toronto better and Anderson is a good gamble but he will want more money like 3 million to sign and not sure if toronto can afford that..

CBJ take that in a heartbeat.

Don’t get me wrong, I think this trade heavily favors CBJ, but don’t undersell Anderson. He’s a damn good winger who is likely to cost less than expected because of his (essentially) lost season. I just think his relationship with CBJ has soured.

I also think Savard can likely be extended at a cost-effective price as well, giving him good value. He’s older, and has lost quite a bit of the offensive promise he showed early in his career, but he’s also been a rock on the second line for us.

Toronto isn’t trading Nylander unless they are moving him for futures and Pietranglo has a contract...
