Description
My thought process here:

Arizona has been reportedly looking to trade Raanta with the goal of shedding salary and recouping draft picks. This accomplishes that. They gain $4.25M in cap space and give Adin Hill the backup role he's earned. Buffalo is looking to bolster their goaltending position, which this does. I think Raanta's value is a late 2nd round pick, and is lower than it should be due to injury concerns. This conditional pick will range from a mid 2nd to a mid 3rd, and hedges Buffalo against the risk of an injury to Raanta.

Detroit is considerably stronger on the left side of their defense, Buffalo is considerably stronger on the right. They swap bottom four defensemen here to balance their lineups. Detroit takes on an extra
$875K in salary, which doesn't hinder their ability to weaponize their cap space for Tampa. Miller has an extra year left, but he isn't a long-term commitment and he's a serviceable middle/bottom pairing guy that could be beneficial to have so that Seider isn't being forced into the lineup too early.

Seems to make sense from an unbiased outside POV.

I tihnk that Detroit would want a mid-round pick as they aren't trying to compete and Buffalo probably are and they don't feel inclined to help them even with fair value. The Raanta trade seems fair

Brilliant construction. Both of these trades are extremely well devised. Bravo!

I have an Arizona framework-for-the-rebuild post percolating and will do my best to remember to give you credit for this one.

Detroit has no need for more RHD and we'd get more for Nemeth at the deadline anyways. Going to need more.

Am I incorrect in seeing your RD depth as Hronek, Stretcher, Biega? That seems really thin to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
