Why would the avalanche trade an aging player with a some might say to high of a cap hit for a aging player with a some might say to high of a cap hit?

Simply a no from the Avs. Cole is a useful depth D to them for the playoffs, and his cap is off the books at the end of the year. Byron would be using up valuable cap for another 2 years. Just doesn't make any sense.

Especially with term... If Byron were a UFA? Maybe. With 3 x $3.4 million? Hell no.

Just wondering, isn't Cole's cap higher than Byron's ?

That wouldn't work for the Habs cap wise.
