It's not that Lindholm and Rakell or bad or worthless, but their contract length is what prevents them from being central pieces in a trade for a franchise center.

Lindholm: drafted 3 years before Eichel. free agent after 1 more year. Would have to protect, meaning we will lose a defensemen we like
Rakell: drafted 4 years before Eichel. free agent after 1 more year
