Description
Leafs definitely won't do this but it would be extremely clever to do so?

Leafs grabbing Galchenyuk back would be smart even though he played fewer games last season he still had a similar PPG average than Kerfoot did only difference was the price tag for either of which in my opinion it makes Kerfoot expendable trade fodder. Liljgrenn I don't believe sticks around and Engvall is in Keefe's doghouse according to a Sportsnet article that I read a week and a half ago. So in saying that trade all 3 over to Anaheim who have the cap space and a possible great piece in Troy Terry who would be like another Michael Bunting situation short sample size but high upside and plays the aggressive style that Bunting plays. Grab the Kesler LTIR contract for cap space to place alongside Kase on the LTIR for cap room.

Leafs would invite the following players to training camp

- Erik Gudbransson ( Ottawa Born player 6'5" 225Lb RHD, Perfect Bogo replacement, and great leadership voice in the locker room. He doesn't use his physicality enough but he is a hardworking puck mover and battler in all 3 zones )

- Devan Dubnyk ( Doesn't hurt to have vet goalie insurance and considering Mrazek's injury history it doesn't hurt )

to fill in the 3C role left by trading Kerfoot, Dubas does the thing that he should have done last year and sign Eric Staal for that 3C vet role and place him alongside Bunting and Mikhayev which IMO would be a great shutdown 3rd line.

Troy Terry begins on the 4C role alongside Spezza and Simmonds which would be a good and physical 4th line as well.

Galchenyuk begins with Tavares and Nylander on the 2nd Line which worked last season.

Ritchie gets the " Hyman " spot beside Matthews and Marner on the 1st line for a pure, physical, net front/ crash the net player.

40 or so more days left everyone I'm so excited for hockey to be back!!! GLG

Wow, the Leafs give up a good 3C Kerfoot, a NHL ready inexpensive Dman and a 4th line winger/centre for a 4th liner centre. The summer heat must be getting to you. And to top it off, the completely meaningless inclusion of Kesler.

This is a trade that has superficial appeal, but upon deeper examination, doesn't make sense for either team. The Sage of Georgian Bay has adequately covered this deal from the Toronto side. From the other perspective, Anaheim's coaching staff is high (in both senses, perhaps) on Troy Terry's upside, and plans to use him in a top-6 RW slot this season, and the Ducks don't really need Kerfoot now that we re-signed Getzlaf or Engvall at all.

Anaheim is a rebuilding team, why are the trading a young NHL player for players who won't be around when they are ready to compete and a young defenseman of the same age who hasn't been able to solidify a role in the NHL?
