Description
So, the hawks played their prospect game today vs the minnesota wild and we learned a lot of things. The big takeaway I learned is that Lukas Reichel is too smart for his linemates, he was playing with Colton Dach and Colton just couldnt handle his passes. He was feeding passes into places only Colton could get there and unfortunately, he wasnt able to turn any of these beauties into goals. I know Dach is a WHL player and maybe playing with an AHL guy would be different, but Reichel just looks worlds ahead of his peers, and I think he has a real chance this preseason to make the roster, so I wanted to show a possible world where he is in the lineup on opening night. In this scenario, the players on waivers are Subban, Delia, Carpenter and Connolly

Disclaimer: I personally would play him in AHL at least to start because hes still learning the center position. Hopefully he would develop chemistry with wingers like Teply and Alty and they could read his mind unlike Colton

They wont rush him though, no reason to. Chicago has a lot of middle players currently pushing for higher rolls and very few of them are waiver exempt. I thi k Chicago will likely see what they have in Nylander before trying to bring up someone like Reichel.

Also zero chance Carpenter is scratched, Hawks are already extremely thin on defense first guys

You are getting ahead of yourself. Looking miles ahead of the other players in a prospect game is basically a requirement to go to the next level.

It’s just one game, I didn’t get a chance to watch it but we should wait until the training camp/pre-season games.

Reichel looked good in the game but take it with a huge grain of salt because MN looked like a team with no cohesion at all. CHI played a much better team game overall for most of the game.
