Trades

MIN
  1. Stephenson, Chandler
Additional Details:
I like this move for both sides. Stephenson has been very good for Vegas this year, but he'll be forced down the lineup once Eichel is healthy and they will also need to find some cap space. Greenway also brings size that they lost from Tuch. The Wild add a speedy center that they desperately need to slot into their top 6.

2.
MIN
  1. Steel, Sam
Additional Details:
I proposed this trade a few days ago and I think it makes sense for both sides. Greenway and Steel could both use a change in scenery and Steel would get more of an opportunity in Minnesota than Anaheim at center since he's stuck behind Zegras and Getzlaf. Anaheim has preferred big players in the past and Greenway plays a sound possession game with flashes of a great power-forward game that would fit in well with Anaheim's middle 6. Wild would be taking a chance on Steel who has a lot of offensive skill but hasn't been able to translate it to the NHL yet.

    MIN
    1. Strome, Dylan
    Additional Details:
This trade has been discussed ad nauseum. Strome's skating concerns me but Fiala and Kaprizov have produced well with Rask and Strome is basically a super-Rask (high offensive skill, but a poor skater).

I just can’t imagine Vegas agrees to Greenway for Stephenson straight up. The 650k of cap hit difference doesn’t justify it.

Steel isn't only stuck behind Zegras and Getzlaf. He's also behind Lundeström, Henrique and Groulx. The Ducks should accept that deal.

Strome isn't a "poor skater" but his speed is definitely below average....I see worse every game in the NHL but nonetheless below average. Strome would definitely be an upgrade to Rask though hard to imagine the Hawks and Wild making this trade within the division. I think it helps both teams though as we could use a RW and pretty sure Greenway plays both wings.

      To be fair...

Getz retires soon. Henrique declines soon. Likely.

Could be very different even by 2023

Yeah I still remember watching dylan live in 2015 and his skating balance and footwork were exquisite, as ever just lack of acceleration yeah, no big 🤷‍♂️
