You can disagree with this trade idea, but it's not quite that simple. Rosters build to an apex and then the cap or departures force a step back or a retool.
The trick is to add the right players at the right time to go all the way. With Kadri a pending UFA, this could be the last opportunity for this mix of players. Is Newhook ready to replace Kadri before other pieces start falling apart? Or should you re-commit to Kadri, making Newhook expendable and extending the window for this group?

You can't always look at younger and cheaper as the answer, or you'll simply end up spinning your wheels while your core players age or depart.
