Imo the prospect must be considerably better than EH that Habs got for Toffoli.

IMO: St Louis is the best fit and landing spot for Hertl - and I think it’s a wicked add for a great Blues team who wants a cup run.

I don't see us buying any rentals unless it's a veteran LD

As much as I love Hertl as a player and would love a world where he's wearing the Note, they don't really need him and can't afford him.

Mhm; I just would love to see the Blues - a big heavy team that’s fun to watch add Hertl. Hertls just a work horse and fits so well and mixes that skill and scoring a ability with a huge strong presence. Seeing him on a PP with ROR Kyrou Perron is just super intriguing to me.

I think they’d be just abusing teams running ROR - Hertl/ Thomas - Thomas/ Hertl in a cup run and with some solid goaltending become a cup favourite with the other big teams.

But the Blues prospect pool; as you allude too, may not be able to the cost/ risk associated.

As much as Hertl fits the mold for the Note, the Blues already have one of the deepest forward pools in the NHL. They need LD more than a forward. I still think Boston needs him more than anyone

Toffoli shouldn’t even be in this conversation. Rental vs term. Not a comp.
