Don’t think it’s a bad trade but don’t see canes doing it. Next year they likely need to clear space for a couple of prospects (Drury Rees Suzuki) so if they do indeed move Fast would think it’s part of a bigger upgrade if Nino/Troch walk in FA or for futures.

While I would love to see another Kapanen in a Canes jersey, as it stands I do think Fast is the better player, and he is having a career year on top of that. This kind of trade might go down in the off-season, but it won’t happen any time in the regular season. Plus, I highly doubt that the Pens and Canes will trade at all this year, what with the playoff picture still to be decided in the Metro.
