Both Mrazek and Driedger have struggled with their new teams this season.
Their cap hits, term, actual salaries remaining, and (bad) stats this season are all very similar.
Could a change of scenery potentially be of benefit for all parties involved?
(Assuming there are no better trade options available for the Leafs to upgrade G - i.e. MAF)
I don’t think he waives to go to Toronto. Might be one of the last places a struggling goalie would want to go. Too much spotlight and attention directed on him additional pressure when already struggling to get his game back. Big risk for the player.
Everyone knew the Mrazek signing was bad. I don’t think the leafs will find it easy to move him.
As for dreidger, was he good or just the benefactor of a great team in front of him? Went from a great team to a ****ty team and it ain't working out too well. Still too many unknowns with him.
