I think the Leafs are set on RD for a bit, we've got Lybushkin-Brodie-Liljegren-Holl, and Niemela in a few years.

Severson and the 1st are a lot more valuable to NJD than Nylander.

Re-sign Severson over the summer.
Add a wing who could be as good or better than Nylander at draft.

That's bound to hurt NJ more than help, because not only you lose Severson, you also lose a top-5 pick as well.
