Description
I'm going to get slaughtered on the Beauvillier trade, but the idea is to make cap space and open a top 6 roster spot to sign Forseberg or Gaudreau while adding draft picks to restock the system with young players. Beauviller needs to play in a more open system to reach his potential. Bailey is fine as a bottom six forward, and it would cost assets to move him. The risk here is that Greiss is no longer effective as even a 2A let alone 1b, that's where bringing on Comrie as a reclamation project comes in. Stick him in the minors and let Mitch Corn work on him. If goaltending is an issue, they have almost 2m to work with at the deadline.

Beauvillier is a two way forward having a down season - selling low on him would be a huge mistake. It feels every offensive minded player under the age of 25 on the isles could reach their full potential in another system, that doesn't mean the isles should move them.

It's also highly unlikely Forsberg would sign with the isles considering Trotz buried him and called him out to the media like he currently does with Wahlstrom. If Forsberg did sign with the isles, he'd immediately become a scapegoat within one season because he's one of the biggest regression candidates for next year. Forwards almost never shoot 20% two years in a row. He's probably a 25-30 guy on the isles.

Bos Trade- Fine, it almost seems inevitable at this point that this trade happens.
Buff Trade- Wilde has lost alot of value since his draft year and there are numerous options at Goalie this offseason. Varly if traded would get a 2nd, but no team would consider a first.
Ari Trade- Isles should be looking to trade Bailey to Ari, who with a $5M cap hit only has a salary of $3.5M which helps Ari reach the cap floor while paying less in real money.
Win Trade- No from the Isles, Mayfield is needed. Hutton cannot be counted on as a full time NHLer, he is most likely a 7th.
MTL Trade- No from the isles, just really bad for them.

Trading Mayfield for that makes little sense for the Islanders.
