Wacky lines and defense pairings aside, my biggest question is why trade away Fabbro for basically nothing, then sign a 30 yr old Manson to that contract to replace him?

Detroit doesn't need RHD. Value is fine, but not a fit.

Ask Hynes, who put Gudbranson instead of Fabbro and Olivier instead of Tolvanen or Tomasino

I figured that was your thought process. I’m not a fan of giving hynes a multi year contract. If I’m being honest I was completely fine moving along without him. I don’t think he’s a good coach. He doesn’t has a system and his line decision were questionable. Any normal fan could see that Tomasino was outplaying his 4th line minutes but you keep him there for the majority of the season. Don’t get me started on kunin. Having him on the 2nd line for pretty much the whole season was beyond terrible. Then putting cousins there. Glass played really well when he first came up and you decided to send him back down. A lot of questionable decisions and not worthy of a multi year contract. Starting to think poile needs to go as well
