Description
Clearing glut of forwards before we take 2 with our 1sts in the draft. (Nazar and Lambert or Gauthier). May need a depth signing.

Still need size (Greenway and/or Dumba would be great but the price would have to be right and it seems like they're moving Fiala). I can see Kassian but I really don't know as anyone other than Greenway will likely be a trade down. Robinson is probably the target unless we can draft a D (Jiricek, Mintyukov or Mateychuk), in which case Svozil or Ceulemans depending on quality of target.

Open to moving Bjorkstrand for an upgrade but he's on a great contract and we'll want him as soon as Voracek is gone. This should also position us well to move up a 22 1st rounder, Necas, Bjorkstrand or Marchenko into Voracek's place as he ages out or we trade him with salary for assets.

Cirelli isn't going anywhere.

As for value, Nyquist is worthless as a pending UFA when we're sending a pending RFA. And Foudy definitely doesn't get Cirelli.

I would rather put Necas on the block for Gavrikov or Bjorkstrand.

The thoughts being that both teams need cap space. Carolina less so as they have a lot of room, they can let some vets go and be fine but Necas has fallen since the arrival of Seth Jarvis. If we can't clear out multiple forwards we probably just don't get Necas. That's okay but his bigger body and playmaking profile fit well with Laine, Chinakov and our centers. Bjorkstrand for Necas would be betting on Necas, and I think I'm okay with that, but really we need to clear out multiple forwards and find a single higher value target or we lose on development time for our young forwards. Additionally, he's coming in at a higher cost than Necas signing would and probably means sacrificing some of their expiring UFAs. I'd consider Roslovic + Robinson but that's probably just crunching Carolina's cap as well.

Tampa is over the cap by $2 million for 22-23 already, they likely aren't going to get fair value. They could pay to move Killorn or get a Palat replacement for cheap with a bet on a prospect. I had more value added but it put them at near the same cap hit. They are betting that Foudy can thrive in a well coached system and replace some of what Cirelli is giving. I don't see Cirelli going anywhere either, especially since the Hagel trade signalled an all in for the next two years. That being said, they are losing Sergachev, Cernak or Cirelli (or multiple) when their contracts expire the next year so I don't think getting Nyquist for one year hurts them here.

CBJ can't move Gavrikov. He's too valuable off the ice and in the room, especially for our young Russians.
