Description

I'm seeing so many posts about the rangers trading kakko schneider a 1st and a 2nd for dubois and its getting annoying so i want to make something clear

Not gonna respond to more comments ignoring points i made

Kevin Fiala is a more valuable player than Dubois. 10 more goals and 20 more points. He pulled a mid 1st round pick and a top defensive prospect. Not Boldy and not Addison. That was in part because the Wild couldn't afford him, so that lowered his value, but Dubois doesn't want to stay in Winnipeg, so that lowers his value. Take into account the 2 year age gap and their value is pretty similar with Fiala being slightly more valuable than Dubois

So Fiala is more valuable and he pulled a mid 1st and a top d prospect. So Dubois should pull around the same amount. The Rangers' 1st next year will a late one, so it would take maybe another pick or prospect to make the value equal, but you get the point

Based on the fact he's an RFA and under control for a couple more seasons, it's probably Kakko that Winnipeg would want.

Not a bad analogy at all tbh, valid points. Think Fiala definitely returned a lot less than expected though but if that’s the market than I’d assume a Dubois trade is pretty close to that scale as you said.

Well yeah they definitely want him, but I really doubt they get him considering that Fiala was also an RFA

Does he actually want to test FA? Would he be open to a long term deal in a big market? These are all ?’s. PLD is also younger than fiala and plays the more coveted position.

The major difference between the two is what I stated above, Minnesota was FORCED to move fiala. Winnipeg is not in a position where they are FORCED to move Dubois.

Also it’s just as annoying to see trades like this a jets fan. So, keep that in mind next time you complain.

It's kinda of silly post when you don't include the Rangers to fill out the roster and PLD new salary. Crazy to think the Rangers can afford an overpaid 2nd line centre .
One big difference the Kings had cap.....the Rangers don't.
