Description

I guess this just sort of explains why I think Nashville doing this trade would be bad asset management. We can get this to work this year but we would have to find a way to purge large amounts of cap to make things work next season or just let Miller walk…. If Miller walks that’s a lot of good assets to use for one season when you aren’t really a contender. I don’t believe we would be able to purge nearly 10 mil in cap to work it out

Zero chance Miller gets 9.5; rumor was in the 8.5 AAV range. But I get your main point regardless.

Definitely don't mind that return package, but definitely don't see Miller commanding that much on his next contract either

To me, a Miller extension would mean Granlund is gone. So that's $5m off the books. Then, let's say Miller signs for at least $1m less as some others have suggested (maybe even another $500k or more being in Nashville with no state income tax, fingers crossed). So that's $6m off the books. Take away one of the scratches and run with 22-- that's roughly $6.75m off the books. So that's just about $1.5m to go. But yeah, it would not be easy to get under the cap in this scenario. Now if Johansen were to ever get moved and replaced with Miller? That would be a big win-- but that's just dreaming...

Even at a million less AAV we’d have to expel a Johansen + size caphit… at todays rate that’s be an additional first+
