Description
I don't understand it, period. But Gerard Gallant is so insistent on healthy scratching Vitali Kravtsov, one of our team's assets who also has potential. My only guess is... trade deadline?

I'm not the most supportive of these upcoming UFA trade targets either, outside of Ghost.

i think rangers fans are clinging too much to the idea that krav is a valuable and high potential player. he's in lias andersson territory now.

personally i wouldn't even take him for free in vancouver. nevermind as a major piece of a horvat trade.

Healthy scratching doesn't do much for trade value. At this point no one will give up much for him.

The Rangers got 3m dead cap coming off the books but they need to sign Miller, Chytil, Lafreniere, and Kravtsov. So, the chances of an offer sheet, if all these guys were doing great, would be real. What does that mean for Kravtsov? They aren't going to sabotage him, but they aren't going to give him a super long leash either. If he's not taking advantage of his opportunities his going to get scratched. If they give him a long leash. He's going to be trade bait for sure but if they play him a ton and he does nothing his value is going to plummet (it's not going to be high now but he probably will still garner some interest). If they play him a ton until he eventually does something, he probably hurts the team more than he helps them just to become an offer sheet target. The way things are going now, they will just be able to resign him for cheap next year.

He's turning 23 (Anderson was traded at 21) at the end of the month but he's only played 30 games in the NHL (Anderson played slightly more than double). So he's not really getting any looks. Wouldn't say he's in Lias Andersson territory just yet.
