Description
This is obviously just spitballing but the point of this post is that the Hawks are in a much better position potentially then some believe. I really believe they are a fringe playoff team in 24/25, and competitive in 25/26 with next season, 23/24 being another rebuild year. How do they get there?

Going into this draft, with potentially 3 or 4 1st round draft picks this year from trading Kane and or Toews (they already own 2, and also 2 picks in each of the 2nd and 3rd rounds), I'm positive the Hawks will at least get 1 big impact player like Fantilli, plus at least 1 more role player from this up and coming draft...I penciled in Perrault who I think would be a great late 1st round pickup as an example.

This is a bare minimum given the size of the prospect pool, but you can't play all kids and need to also hit the cap floor. Great news, the Hawks will have huge amounts of cap space to play with going into the 24/25 season. They should be able to pickup some young'ish big name guys. So Sebastian Aho signing is just an example of a big name vet we will have plenty of cap space to sign and outbid other teams for. I also penciled another big name blank player on the right wing...TBD but similar concept to Aho.

Kane I think will want to end his career in Chicago. He will be fine on the 2nd line still despite his age 2 seasons from now.

Soderblom has looked really good for a 23 year old, and Commesso is on track.

Obviously Murphy is still under contract, but maybe he is traded and replaced by Regula or Mitchell...minor detail.

There are 3 extra D men here, but the point is to show the number of best options out of prospects...we have more that definitely have NHL chances. The same applies for the forwards.

Imo they’ll Get their 1C in this draft and another high end talent next year. But to fill out the rest of the roster, they need a lot of 1st rounders (most likely mid to late from contenders) and 2nd rounders. That’s where u fill in your middle 6 guys and 2nd pair Dmen and you can take risks on picks and if they workout , then they’ll go even higher in redrafts

Well they have 2 1st round draft picks this draft as is today. They will most likely land at least 1 more if not 2 more with toews and Kane out the door. They have 2 2nd round picks today and 2 3rd picks today, they will pick up at least 1 more with Domi or AA getting moved. This will be a huge draft for the Hawks with all the higher round picks they will have.

They will certainly add more in 2024 draft, but I'm taking a snapshot of what they will have ready in 24/25 with the current prospects that are high end and young players already playing plus the 2023 draft plus a enormous amount of cap space to sign at least 1 if not 2 big names.

Point is, it's pretty easy to see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.

Yes I was just explaining what would be ideal. But so far , they’re doing everything right. .also got a bunch of good young Dmen that are likely going to the world juniors

Just realized i didn't include Jakub Galvas who is arguably the best looking pro prospect in the pros so far! Hawks way overloaded on defensive prospects, but they will use some of them i'm sure to acquire additional forward prospects. Galvas, Del Mastro, Vlasic, Korchinski, Allan, Mitchel, Regula, Filip Roos, Rinzel, Isaak Phillips, Kaiser (may not make the NHL), etc....it's a bit crazy and not overreaching when I say all these guys have good NHL potential and or are locks.
