Loaded up

Hawks rather just take the 23' first. Have plenty of D prospects. Need to draft some forwards.

We have plenty of LHD, but Mukhamadullin is an RHD and a very good one, at that. We don't have nearly as many RHD, and outside of Rinzel, none of the RHD prospects in our system project to a top 4 role. I think the bigger problem with this trade is taking Haula and Blackwood back, who are both worth next to nothing. I've always liked aspects of Haula's game, but he is a UFA. And Blackwood is looking like a bust, with CHI's up and coming G prospects, he is just a redundancy or a stop gap.

Both their deals expire at the end of this season. They're just in the deal to even out the cap. With jones locked up for the next 8 seasons they have plenty of time to find another top RD. Right now I'd focus on getting as many firsts in this draft as they can.

I don’t think Mukhamadullin will be an add-on trade chip. Maybe in a year or two.

Also, Tatar has been one of our better forwards…not sure we would have to (or want to) move him in such a deal. Would be foolish since both Walsh and Foote could add real value in other deals.

Meier for Holtz/pick only if done with favorable extension. Could only happen after season.
