I'd say these all favour Chicago and the vast majority aren't even close to accepted.

Best example to work off being Giroux: Giroux (50% Ret), Rubtsov, Bunnaman, 5th for Tippett, 1st, 3rd.

Giroux probably had higher value - better season, plays centre or right wing, so less one dimensional (and that's not knocking Kane being very good in that one dimension) - and got less than you have Kane fetching on a comparative down year.

While NY is usually star struck for big name talent, I don't think Kane fits on Broadway.

Between assets to give up, Cap to take on, and his current level and style of play. Not necessary.

Maybe the most important part you forgot. Giroux was the big ticket item in a TDL that wasn’t loaded with high end players. This year there’s a lot out there(Kane,Toews, horvat, kuzmenko, duclair, Larkin, bertuzzi just to name a few)
