Canucks lose a Lottery Pick, but acquire the former 1OA to try and turn around. Lafreniere's pedigree as 1OA still holds slightly more value than the unknown Pick. Gives the Rangers a slight break in making up that difference, by only handing over a late 1st and a 2nd (retention) for Horvat, who probably could have fetched a little more in another deal.

Canucks obviously aren’t giving their unprotected 1st for Lafreniere, and the rest doesn’t come close to getting Horvat

I'm very intrigued what a line with Peter and Laf might turn into. Obviously Laf hasn't got the LW time consistently in NY but he'd get it in Van.

Zero chance of Drury giving up Alexis Lafreniere, For a player in Bo Horvat that they've no shot of resigning. Horvat will be in the $8,500,000 to $9,000,000 per range and the Rangers only have $16,000,000 to sign 9 players Horvat basically by himself would eat 85% of their salary cap.
