honestly would not take klingberg for free, he's been one of the worst defenseman in the entire league this year and hasn't even been on the ducks' top powerplay recently. before anyone says its just because he's on a bad team, maybe consider that part of the reason they are historically bad is because klingberg is playing 22 mins a night for them

He's playing in a system that doesn't utilize his strengths in Anaheim, he is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole here. If Washington plays a similar style to Dallas, then he will excel. Besides, you have a John Carlsson sized hole to fill. What other offensive RHD are you going to get?

He was awful on defense in Dallas as well. Carlson not playing is, in some ways, an upgrade for Washington because while he's a great offensive piece, he is awful defensively and Washington already has the "Great Value" version of his power play abilities with Erik Gustafsson. I doubt they'll be racing to pay big picks for a guy who can't defend worth a damn when they can spend the same, or less, for better defensive RD (think someone like Gudas)
