Description
It's time to rebuild. Cash out on ROR and Tarasenko and clean up the disaster that is the left side of our defense. Also, move Kyrou. He's probably a world-class pond hockey player, but his game has not evolved, and given his salary situation he may never be coachable. He's hit the jackpot and never played 60 minutes of 200 ft hockey in his life. But, his skills are highly coveted. Move him and dump some baggage along with him.

I know this forum's going to freak out because I have not offered up enough to move Krug. Whatever. I'm open to suggestions.

The jury is still out on Brown and Perunivich due to injuries, but Toropchenko looks to be here to stay.

If I could find a team to take Leddy and his contract for a bag of pucks, I'd do it. I'd much rather watch Tyler Tucker.

If the Blues build around a solid core of Schenn, Thomas, Buchnevich, Neighbors, and Saad, they may be competitive again in 2-4 years. Bolduc, Alexandrov, and Snuggerud appear to be promising. If you move Kyrou and Krug, The Blues have the cap space to sign a couple of elite FAs. Also, this year's draft appears to be deep and the two first round picks could be impactful. This could be a relatively quick turnaround.

Sabres easily decline that. That contract isn't worth it to the sabres who already have samuelsson/dahlin and power playing the left side.

The only way Ottawa accepts that trade is if you remove Sanderson and don't touch Sanderson because Ottawa will not trade Sanderson.

-Probably a little pricey for ROR, but I can see it - I think for a retooling team like St. Louis it would make more sense to take a young roster player/close to ready prospect & a 2nd for ROR instead, though.

-Islanders just paid #13OA for Romanov last summer and don't have anyone fully ready to step up to LD2 if they move him; there's also the fact that the Islanders are on the playoff bubble and shouldn't be paying crazy rental prices this season.

-Feels weird to be moving Kyrou when he's PPG and his big extension hasn't even kicked in yet, but I think it's a moot point because Ottawa passes. They're already tight to the cap trying to figure out how to extend DeBrincat, it's going to be muuuuuch worse adding $11.5M to next year's cap. I think they love the value, though - just not enough to basically push Cat out of town.

-Probably about what Mikkola gets, maybe whoever trades for him throws in a depth prospect too. Brett Kulak trade is what I have in mind as a comp for Mikkola.

-Krug probably blocks it - dude has a full NTC through 2025 so he's controlling where he goes. I think you're gonna be stuck with him, or you're going to be trading him for another problem contract - but that's the best you can really hope for.
