Not very enticing to add salary especially for next season for what’s probably market value for Barbashev or probably a bit less anyways.

Foegle seems to be a slightly overpaid bottom 6er. We don’t have a depth issue whatsoever currently.

That could work for Columbus, but at the pace things are going, it could also end up outbid w/r/t the second pick.

Chicago would take that. Best case he reaches potential, worse case he's a 2nd-3rd line player take up cap space to help us reach the cap floor when our cap space doesn't matter as much.

Chicago has the cap space and Edmonton doesn't. Cap space is a valuable commodity and the idea is to "weaponize it" to obtain pieces to make the team better in the long term. I would take Puljujarvi in a trade but EDM has to send along a much better pick than the 2023 5th, or another young player (forward preferably).
