Dallas gets a strong, veteran 3C in Pageau. Isles get Hakanpaa, who can replace Mayfield and pair with either Aho or Bolduc, and get some cap space.

ARI-NYI

Arizona gets two prospects, a 2nd round pick, and relieves themselves of Schmaltz's contract (from a term perspective, he's obviously a very good player). Isles get a scorer who can play all positions.

What is up with everyone's fascination of trading Pageau?? He is an awesome center that is good in many areas of the game. Having him and Horvat for years to come will be lethal for mismatches.

I prefer keeping him as well. He's a 3C on paper but does so much more. He's worth his $5m AAV

Pageau has 1 5v5 goal in 680 min of ice time. If that were anyone else theyd be getting killed for it and you know it lol. He’s a 3C on paper and his impact is that of an average 3C. I’m open to hearing any counter arguments

The truth is and most fans don’t like to admit it, but Pageau seems like a good team guy and even if he was being paid 10 mill fans wouldn’t want to get rid of him because they have an emotional attachment

I love Pageau, I just thought for a shakeup this would be a good roster. I have zero issue with keeping him.
