Sanheim and Hayes to CBJ

Too much coming from CBJ in that trade IMO. I like the idea because I think CBJ are going to be in win now mode the next 3 years depending on what pick we get in this draft. If we get Bedard/Fantilli we have 3 years with them on a cheap cap hit with Jiricek and a few others also on ELCs for 3 more years due to the slides in their contracts.

Maybe remove the 1st and 3rd and add a 2nd next year and maybe Foudy (Torts loves Foudy when coaching CBJ).

I have seen a few CBJ fans trading Bean, 2nd and 3rd for Hayes at $4.5 mil. Roslovic is probably worth a 3rd but i'll give him the 2nds value. That would mean that Sanheim is only getting the 1st here towards his value. I think this is close or even an underpay by CBJ

Delete Sanheim and the first from the Jackets trade. Jarmo barely gives out 7-year terms to players who'd been in Columbus for their development; he's not going to trade for a 2LD with that much term when the org has at least two top LD prospects coming up who are about two years out. And no, "you can just trade him later" is not a valid counterargument. We could just use the first to trade for a defenseman who fits the window more neatly.

Like others have said I’m not sure the jackets would have interest in sanhiem especially for a first. They have mateychuck and svozil coming up soon so they most likely just need a stopgap for 2-3 years

People need to realize that just because a guy scores in the CHL, doesn't mean their game translates to the NHL. Not saying you are wrong in your thinking, just that you can't think every prospect is gonna make the show.
