Description
This team needs a little bit of everything since they're doing a major rebuild. With the 3rd overall selection they select Leo Carlsson who will play one more season in Europe.
It's hard to see the direction this team goes. I think they're going to take a slow path but I could see two interesting signatures. I think they bring Domi back. He said before he liked playing for Richardson and Chicago has money to spend. They could sign him to provide a veteran presence for the next generation such a Reichel. The second move is if NYR can't sign Kane I think he might want to comeback since at the deadline NYR were is only option.
In net every option is better then Mrazek and since Commesso has a long way to go before being at the nhl, I think Hawks go for Jarry. They can give him a long contract without rushing Commesso. Plus most teams already got their guy in net so Jarry goes to secure the bag. They could also look for a dman, and top 6 forward. Now they question is who would be interested to sign in Chicago knowing well they're a rebuilding team. For the top 6 guy a player like Pacioretty could be interesting. He missed almost all the season and they could trade him at the trade deadline for prospect. At defenseman I think someone close to retiring or a bounce back candidate could sign there with the hope of being trade at the deadline to a contender, maybe a 6-7th defenseman. One thing's for sure, Chicago rebuild will be a long one.

I doubt that is enough to dump Hoffman. Also, I can say with almost complete certainty that CHI will not bring back Kaner. Definitely wouldn't sign Patches, Jarry, or Holden, either.

Montreal is unlikely to give up assets to "dump" Hoffman, his buyout is only 1.2 mil next year and 1.7 mil the year after. We should also be able to trade him for a mid to late pick or have a team double retain to get a 2nd or 3rd out of it. There simply is not any reason to pay to move him.

I think that if Chicago is drafting 3rd overall, they would take Michkov as they will be rebuilding for a while, and would be able to build a team that is ready to compete and compliment Michkov when he joins the NHL in a few years

OP is a MTL fan, not a CHI fan.
