Description
Wouldn’t have to be searching for a 2nd line LW if we just kept Tolvanen.

I don’t love the idea of moving Glass or Novak to wing, so I decided to trade Johansen. However, I could see Parssinen switching to play LW this season. Guess we just have to wait and find out what we’re gonna do with all these centers

Not really seeing why the Yotes trade a guy entering his prime years, locked up at as near as makes no difference half the AAV, for RyJo, even if it comes with a 2nd and a 3rd.

They are trying to ball on a budget with how bad their gate revenue is with their temporary stadium, 8 million bucks a year is going to hurt them financially and it doesn't seem to line up with their timeline.

The coyotes aren't gonna pay Johansen, it's like 8 million in real dollars

I was sort of thinking that a guy like Johansen brings a strong locker room presence, but he also helps them meet the cap floor. Since the Little contract is expiring, they might need a bit of a boost to reach it. Of course I haven’t done the math, but I assume that this move would be helpful in that situation.

They only need about 9~10 milion for next season last I checked, but they also needed 8-9 players as well, so not really applicable. Only teams in the league that I know are below the cap floor for next season without any major internal signings to accomplish are Chicago and Carolina.

Carolina could be a fit, as they like taking distressed assets, but they only like to take them for cheap. I would at least clear out the 8 million to be used elsewhere.

Edit: Little contract runs to end of 24-25 season, as does Voracek, and Weber goes until 26-27 season, Ladd contract ends this season. They currently have ~55.5 million in cap spent, but only have 12 roster players, they can get above the cap floor on 11 league minimum deals.

Yeah, but I do think that going into the 24-25 season, they will have some problems. The Little contract expires then, and it’s hard to see the math working out. Maybe going into that season a Johansen to ARZ trade would make more sense
