CHI isn't paying, and the retention makes it worse for us as we need to hit the cap floor. We aren't the right team for Olofsson.

Someone will definitely give you a 3rd if you retain, but everything I've heard about Olofsson is that he's more of a liability than he's worth. I'm with Aussie. Hawks pass on this one.

Hmmm, quite a reasonable Koneckny offer:

A 1st round prospect from 2022
A high 2nd rounder in 2023
Jokiharju, a RD who seems stalled (PHI lacks RD, especially if they move DeAngelo)
a solid 2.5mil RFA to be: who plays center (PHI lacks), a young guy, who's had some ups and downs
(Two really solid futures, and 2 youngish expiring RFAs about 5mil) who could go either way (better or worse) but a really market aware offer, if Koneckny is available.

Olofsson with retention probably gets a 3rd from someone, as he still has some offensive ability, but has certainly lost the BUF fans

Olofsson's best new team will have a need to improve their powerplay. He's a specialist and needs to be carried on the third line. Sabres keep 50% and they get a mid round pick back.

Yeah this is a hard offer to pass up
