Ottawa would be back to square one as well with the exact same issue.

Bratt might not be more willing to sign in Ottawa than the Cat.

Trading Bratt would be a major mistake.
Bratt is the perfect forward for the Devils rush-heavy transition game that Ruff has implemented during his tenure here.
Trading Bratt for DeBrincat would undoubtedly have an overall net-negative effect on the Devils competitiveness.
