That NSH trade still isn’t happening

NSH declines. Your evaluation of those players, specifically Tomasino, is off. You aren't far from it, but NSH declines this more because the pieces aren't what NSH needs. One look at NSH's defense pipeline would tell you that NSH does not need anymore defenseman. There is already a logjam as it is at defense, and NSH needs more forwards with scoring upside, specifically centers. Why would NSH trade you two forwards that were over .5 points per game under John Hynes and likely see a scoring increase under Burnette for 2 defenseman who would get thrown into the AHL, likely to only be seen again if NSH has a massive injury problem next season? PIT doesn't have the pieces that would incentivise NSH to part with either of these players

If I were the Sabers GM I might just waive him so I wouldn't have to retain. I think might get a better value elsewhere.

Pickering is a fine d prospect and maybe a Novak for Pickering swap at the deadline could work if Nashville is out of the playoffs and are looking to move Novak.
