I wouldn't mind Reinhart, but I would stay away from Nylander at that price.

Man, it'd really help if we landed Macklin.

I originally had Toffoli at ~6-6.5mil for 3 years in Nylander's spot, which I think would be the more prudent move from a cap/GM perspective, but in this scenario SJ had the money and I thought why not put Nylander there instead.

Rushing the rebuild is a bad idea, that defence isn't good either. SJ already has a young core intact (Eklund, Smith) and if they tanked for another 2-3 years, they have the chance to land 1 maybe 2 GENERATIONAL talents (Macklin, Misa, or McKenna) which is crazy to think about.

In 5-6 years, when Nylander, Reinhart, and Andersson start regressing and Hertl and Couture are washed up, your likely going to have do re-tool again while your stars (Celebrini, Smith, Eklund) hit their prime. Therefore, SJ should tank it to the ground for another 2-3 seasons and build a potential dynasty instead of rushing it

Sharks would be best to follow the Hawks. Don't rush a rebuild by signing guys before the team is ready. Macklin is a nice starting piece...Smith is too, but they're not close to solving the issues.

Tear it ALL they way down!

It's insane to pay Nylander 10.5m....He's at his peak now. Same with Reinhart
How did you manage to get Ducks for 1st rounder?
