Garland trade

A bunch of pieces the hawks don’t need for a piece they do. Don’t see why the hawks would accept.

Ya it wasn't my best effort for a proposal haha. I just think Garland would be good in Chicago. His contract would end as Bedard gets his 2nd contract so the timing is good. Myers replaces 70% of Murphy for the yr and you move him at the deadline. You get Podkolzin who is a good prospect and would be a good 3rd liner right away. I did want to add something else nice but just couldn't figure out what.

I definitely saw where you were coming from with this proposal. I think Garland would be good in Chicago too and his contract does end for Bedards next contract like you said but you need to play the market knowing Van wants to get rid of him. I think it’s easier to propose something that doesn’t involve Murphy. They need him this year to help the young guys. If they trade him it will have to be for a good return, anything less they will hang onto him. Hawks would need to trade a forward to bring in Garland. They already have 14 NHL caliber forwards with Kurashev and Blackwell returning from IR soon. Add in Podkolzin you’re talking about moving 2 maybe 3 forwards. If you want Murphy in a Garland trade I would say more quality less quantity.

Yeah not going to happen

Hawks decline. No room in the lineup for Garland or Podz. And Myers and a 4th doesn't get Murphy.
