There are probably teams that would be interested in that deal. I doubt CHI is one of them, but I could certainly be wrong.

I would accept if I’m the Hawks. They could very well need another veteran goalie next season since Mrazek’s deal is done at the end of the current year. Bob’s contract will be done before Bedard and Korchinski need new deals or perhaps the Hawks retain 50% and ship Bob to another goaltender needy team for additional picks. $3.25m for a starting calibre goalie could net a pretty good return.

It's a very interesting trade. Hawks have the cap space, have the desire for a veteran presence, get a 1st round pick...I'm not seeing a big downside. Hardest parts of this deal are would FLA accept it and would Bob accept it.

Yeah. I had the same thought. I just wonder if Davidson might not want to give Richardson the option of playing him over Soder. No matter how development oriented coaches may seem, they are almost always going to go with the best option in net, but if Soderblom isn't getting reps, he isn't going to improve. This way we don't have a goalie who isn't part of CHI's future out there stealing games, and Soderblom gets the best chance at getting a bulk of the starts. I also wonder if Bob would even accept a trade to CHI. But, yeah, if the plan is to retain more and flip him, I'm definitely into it.

I could see the Hawks taking that. They could easily flip Bob in a year or so and retain to bring in even more assets.
