Description
Buyouts are eating up 14.743M of the cap this year an next. With that handicap there is no way to compete and while currently in 30th spot this is a look at options for the deadline to accrue picks and get ready for 2025-2026 when they get 13M in cap back.

This what I think the team will look like next year as they wait to exit cap hell. Trades to happen before the deadline, Buyouts represent players who will walk during Free Agency

Fleury trade gets him to a contender in LA that needs goaltending insurance while saving the wild 3.5M and adding a second round pick. Fleury hasn't been great this year but the Wild haven't exactly been helping him out its almost a guarantee that he would play better on a better team. Copley hasn't been great but he comes back to make the cap work and if he plays well the wild can always bring him back likely for less than his current 1.5M or he can walk in the summer it doesn't really matter

Zuccarello is on an expiring contact but has big value for contending teams at a 3M cap hit (I am assuming the Wild would retain half to get the best return). Deal here doesn't have to be specific to one team, I just put an example on the potential return they could get from any contending team just so happens Cap worked with the Devils and having Zuc will be better than having smith play forward

Devils dont need a top 9 FWD. SO again we are ruining Holtz by getting Zucc.... But now if it was Duhaime, we can talk but that trade is so awful Devils 100% decline and again why are you guys so in love with making the Devils even SMALLER. Smith is a place holder, again your not trading for a 3m FWD just to sit on the 4th line. like i said Duhaime would be better he fits the 4th line role, and your just wasting zuc on the 4th.

Zuccarello has an extension in place.

They do have 10M in cap next year to fill 6 spots, if they can spend 1M or less on their 2nd goalie, that gives them 9M, to re-sign/replace Gologoski and Bogosian on defense, Duhaime, Dewar and Maroon up front. So, if we say they add a 2M D, re-sign Bogosian, and Maroon, and Dewar for 800k, 800K, and 1M, that leaves enough money for a 4.4M player.

The Kings would not pay a 2nd to get a goalie playing just as bad Copley has. The only trade value that Flower currently has is his previous playoff experience so anyone trading for him would be looking to pick him up as a back up and as we have seen so far this year Flower is no where near his past self.

Kings counter with Copley and a 4th for Flower 50% retained.

Tampa Bay obviously declines. Bogo cost the Wild a 7th to acquire. Why would Bolts pay a 3rd to get him back?
