Description
Let's just pretend the Ducks are thinking of moving Zegras.....

McGroarty checks off Verbeek's boxes.... and is the prize here

Appleton is serviceable; has the size Verbeek likes and could be flipped for another asset. Becomes a Duck to help make the cap work.

Stanley, had the size Verbeek likes, but realistically moved for cap purposes.

McGroarty is almost certainly untouchable for a draft and develop team like Winnipeg.

You'd need to start with a different prospect.

I get where you are coming from, but for Zegras I think one would have to consider it. Still have contract control and a top 6 that is, well, kind of degenerate.

Just saying that if Chevy were to move McGroarty, it would certainly be for a player of Zegras' age, ability and caliber.

It somehow almost makes sense..... almost.

Yeah good luck slick, Other 30 teams offer up a far better deal than this, Stanley is pretty much a bust or reclamation project. Appleton isn't getting it done. McGroarty is the only decent piece in the whole deal And Chevy isn't moving him.

Oh, for sure, Zegras would be a player you have to consider it for, but team control, especially on a high end prospect is pretty valuable to a team like Winnipeg.

I guess if the Jets' scouts were really high on Zegras then that may be a consideration, but it would take a lot of convincing I think. All those years of team control and elc are fairly enticing.

All this of course, ignoring what Anaheim would actually think of the deal.

Honestly, I think Zegras' name popping up is insane. No reason for the Ducks to move him. But at the same time since he has popped up, you have to play with it lol
