Description
These were the lines at their practice today. Coming out of a week long break, Poitras hasn't played in 12 days since he was out of the Flyers game, and he's still a scratch. Seems pretty obvious Monty has decided on a top 9 that he trusts heading down the stretch towards the playoffs, and Poitras isn't part of that.

Not even mad about it, it's still a successful season for Poitras just getting 20-ish games in and he came up huge for the Bruins early in the season when they were struggling to generate 5v5 offense. But now he's playing like 9min ever other game on the 4th line, and I'm just not sure exactly who that benefits. Send him down, let him play 1C for Guelph in their playoffs.

if there's anything we've learned from the montgomery era, it's to not pay much attention to practice lines. He can play six more games until they have to make a decision. I imagine they give him that.

I don't think its smart to move Poitras back to juniors - pretty sure he is injured right now.

When he's healthy he should be playing 3C between JVR/Heinen and Geekie

If he’s healthy, I want him as a 3rd line center with Frederic moving up. The question is will he be healthy or not. I think he learns more from sticking around for the season and the playoffs than going back to juniors. The only thing I would ask is he not play just 8 minutes even if it means he is scratched more often

Couldn't they wait 5 weeks until he turns 20 and give him playing time in Providence?

At that point, you probably want him up here even if he’s a black ace watching. That’s the time I want him up here.

I do think there is an argument to send him down to get more ice time and move Lysell up, but I’d rather just put Steen down if that were the case. I think he’s 8 games away from his arbitration year pushing out 1 year.
