Interesting trade to VAN but take out the 1st in 2025 and Newhook and the DAL one doesn't happen. IMO

Those are 2 unprotected 1sts for a team bound to fall off a cliff. Habs could screw them over even more by giving Pettersson an insane offersheet that forces them to trade depth to even afford him

If the Canucks trade multiple 1sts it’ll be for a bonafide star player. Not for a 3rd liner and two dmen that would be 3rd pair guys long term for us (even though I do like Barron)

If Pettersson were to leave/sign an offer sheet somewhere else, it’s likely because he’d want to be in a smaller market while still having a chance to win right away. Montreal doesn’t fit either of those criteria
