Someone will probably give up a pick for Alexeyev. But it won't be the Hawks. There's no room at the Inn for another LD.

While this is probably the route the Caps should take (playing younger guys getting them experience etc...), I am hoping they make 1 or 2 big splashes this offseason. Either FA or a trade, but I hope they get a top 6 forward (Reinhart, for example) and then a top 4 D, either a better version of Jensen or a true top 4 LHD (Chychrun or something).

I see 2024-2025 as the last real chance for Ovi to get another cup. The Caps have the cap space now, the older guys are moving on, youth is coming in, and Ovi seems to still be effective (definitely needs more help than in the past though).
