The worst thing Philly can do is trick themselves into thinking they have a cup contending team after this year. They have a team built for the future but this team isn't close to contending the next 2-4 years, they shouldn't sacrifice a strong future team just because they lucked into a WC2 spot in a weak conference.

There's a world of difference between Gibson and Peterson that isn't covered by a future first and an AHL defenseman.

Agree, I feel like some Flyers fans have started thinking that this team is close to being a playoff contender which is just not the case. The reason they are even in the position they are in is because they are overachieving and other metro teams like Devils and Penguins are underachieving this year.
