Decent value but NYR need a premium piece to move Kakko. Doesn’t make sense otherwise.

Hawks do not do that Kakko deal. Bowman is gone, no more reclamation projects

Like the JGP trade. Not taking Schmidt for less than a 2nd. None of the reasons you give for taking him are strong enough to take him at a discount. Nor trading away a 1st for Kakko. He's probably no better than the player Hawks can draft in that spot. See no need to swap AA for Gourde. Hall will be back next season to play w/ Bedard. Hall is already skating and has the whole summer to continue his rehab. Not sure Seattle makes that trade anyway.
