No interest in taking back Anderson's contract under any circumstances.

But you'd be buying him out, and instead of $8.7 million x 2 in cap and $18.2 million in real money, you'd be paying out $10 1/3 million in cash and a total of $11 1/3 million in cap spread out over 6 seasons. Saving $7 million + in cap and almost $8 million in compensation and getting a first-round draft pick plus a good prospect out of the deal seems pretty tempting to me. I would think that it's time to close the books on the Laine experience.

Or Montreal can buy him out and not involve us in that. I fail to see why moving Laine at the nadir of his value is a good business decision at all, let alone one that requires the team to spend significant money. If Laine can’t play, his contract is insured.

I think that expecting Laine to get better is a forlorn hope. In this game of "Musical Chairs," I think that the music is about to stop.
