CHI
  1. Necas, Martin [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Canes opt to sign Guentzel - KK will be very tough to move and with the Jarvis breakout this could make the most sense to help with the Salary cap
CAR
  1. Allan, Nolan
  2. 2024 1st round pick (TBL)
  3. 2026 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
My fellow hawks fans won't be happy trading picks or young assets, but the way I see it is at some point you are okay to make a move for quality over quantity. Where that tampa pick is falling the chances of getting a player of this caliber is very slim. Necas is still young and can be in this top 6 for a decade

Hawks have a plethora of LD also, and can afford to move on from one - likely Allen or Kaiser

I mean Demelo can just sign that on a longer term deal with a more competitive team

With $16M in cap space left I'd be ok with a 2 year $7M maybe even $8M per. Hawks have the cap space and cash. They've already proven they're willing to overpay in order to get term and a specific player that'll buy into the development of the kids as the longer term goal.

I'm open to the idea of at some point you make a quality vs quantity move. I get that part. Seems like a bit much for Necas. I don't dislike him at all. I guess I'd be hoping for something more efficient. Either a better RWer as a UFA or maybe Bowman's prospects like Colton Dach and Nolan Allan plus a 2nd. I just don't think KD is trading away 1sts at this point in time. He's still trying to get his picks/prospect developed/developing. In a summer or two...maybe I could see it then, but it just feels too early for this. Kyle's only had this job for 2 years 1 month and 15 days and Luke not even 2 years yet. I wouldn't rush the rebuild.
