    I don't know why folks think Ottawa would get more. First the sign and trades are foolish anyway. Ottawa has agree to with Edmonton and Karlsson negotiates with Edmonton. If a deal falls through, what the Sens have to line up another trade partner? What an endless parade of negotations? Karlsson probably has a limited among of teams he would play for under a sign and trade anyway. Contrary to what people believe, few teams are going to strip their teams for Karlsson though a few more might take their chances when he's a UFA. If Karlsson wants to be a UFA, Ottawa won't get nearly that return in a trade.

    Try making a 2019/20 roster. Is there even cap room for Karlsson at 10.7m

    Sekera and Russell’s no movement clauses will be done, Oilers will have to do whatever to get them traded. With Jones, Simpson/Lowe/Samorukov to replace them. That’ll be around 7.5 mill minus Karlsson increase, leaves around 3.25 mill. Should be enough for Puljujarvi increase. Yamamoto and Benson may be ready then. Kassian and one other winger could go, cap’s supposed to go up though.

    This is half-assery. Obviously ott will try to get the most and this offer isn’t in the running. I don’t like ott, I don’t like Karlsson... even I can compute a deal and it’s easily bigger than this. Anything less and ott. Will have a new gm. #youknowwherethedooris
