Not too far from what these teams actually are looking for. Not quite there, but not too far from succession.

Pretty close trade value, but trading McDonagh just makes the D worse

Just my opinion that McD is regressing and is always hurt some how. He’s up for a contract extension in 2 summers. That is the reason i give him up. Skjei can play top LHD imo and he will also get a raise. Can Gorton and co consistently give the defense $ and not have enough to have a good group of Forwards? That is why I made these types of trades. Dumba in essence can be a top pairing dman and is younger.

Where did the Wild get the ~$4.6m in cap space to make this trade.

It's a really bad trade for Minny. 2 UFA rentals + Zuccarello (UFA next year) for a team controlled Dumba.
palhal liked this.

As much as I would like to have patches on the rangers I dont want to give up day hes going to be a stud in the future and there is a reason the rangers took a chance on him

Idk about regressing but he does seem to be hurt. Leafs would probably be better trade partners. First rounder could come out of that or established center. Would rather have picks so rangers could sign skjei Hayes Miller.

Idea is there though. Not bad

There's a reason, or two, 29 other teams took a flyer on him. He's flawed. Chances are, maybe ONE out of our many young d will be a regular. The way it's looking, probably NOT! ADa, Day, Pionk, Graves...

Agreed, maybe Toronto could be a better partner in regards of unloading Mac for a younger established C or picks and will free up $. But I truly do wonder about Hayes. He is playing as 2C and has had to be 1C when Zib is hurt. He is on pace for under 40 points. It just is seeming at this point either he really isn’t a C, or he is a 3C. Chytil or Lias can play that role next season for $925K. Would Hayes be worth trading instead of re-signing? Miller I would extend 6 years in a heart beat as well as Skjei. If Hayes does get an extension, would only do 4 years as I’m not very sold on him.

No to rick nash the sequel and for the love of all that is holy, stop trading first rounders and high end prospects like day.

This trade is ok for the rangers right now, but in 3-4 years it will look worse than the Gomez trade from montreals perspective. Give it time, trade mac truck for young players and picks, let day, gropp, and vesey hit their potential, and draft well. You can't buy championships, you build them.
