Caps fan here: That is real close in value, really really close. Anything I add would just be arbitrary changes just for the sake of making changes. I think that is definitely a trade the penguins are looking for. 2 immediate plug in impact players in positions they need, one player who is close to NHL ready and then a 1st. I think this works perfectly for both teams. Also pens suck dick, so that should be factored into all of this, but otherwise a good trade

Value wise I think this works, from PIT perspective it adds the depth they need. It doesn't work for TOR because they have no cap to sign Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Gardiner is gonna get a raise in 2 years... so no chance this happens.

As a Leafs fan, I won't question the value you present here. I just don't think that Letang, his contract and the type of Dman that he is, works for the Leafs at this time! Too similar to what they have, and what they may have in the system. Too oft injured, and while I don't see the contract (cap hit) as restrictive, I do see better ways to spend the money! He's a very solid player, that may need a fresh perspective!

No chance it happens. Value is there maybe but that would not work for Leafs and me personally would rather keep Gardiner who will make 2 mil less after resigning. And you gotta think about Matthews, Nylander and Marner contracts too. So no. And Letang would be fine again, he was most of last 2 years injured. Give him some time. He will stay in Pens uniform for rest of career

Well the Leafs might win the trade this season and next. But not having a needed centre, Bozak as shown by your post, hurts this year too. But it is those three last years of the contract, 2019/20 to 22., that just might be unaffordable to the Leafs.

A non-UFA center would be nice

a guy who usually ends up top 10 in norris trophy votings, and plays a ton of minutes, produces offensively, plays a sound defensive game, and is in his prime, pretty sure is worth way more then an expiring asset.

So what would be your idea of a fair trade with Toronto? Genuinely interested, not trying to be condescending

He won’t get moved. Pens have no reason to move him

Letang to Toronto will not happen because letang will not waive his ntc for Toronto. IMO he will stay in Pittsburgh or go to MTL.

Just for fun one of Reilly or gardiner plus Bozak, either marner or nylander. That’s what I would want in return from Toronto.

some of these people on here have absolutely nothing constructive to say. They just get on here and get off on bashing other peoples ideas (prob cuz they mostly pens fans and are a very insecure and sad bunch). Really a shame to see a group of fans so weak willed and dumb that they don't realize what they are doing. Such a simple species these fans are, mostly pets tho, domesticated and not very well trained for outside captivity in the real world. Sad!

Says the caps fan...so salty and jealous of our players / success it’s hilarious. Honestly I don’t blame you though, like if I had to endure the amount of playoff disappointments that you’ve encountered throughout your life I’d be the same. I’m here for you bro. If you ever need to talk let me know. I couldn’t imagine living through the hell and embarrassment of calling yourself a caps fan

Nope Pittsburgh can get a better return then this for Kris Letang Bozak would be a non starter since he's a pending UFA next summer.

seem like most pens trades are to the leafs. try sending 7.25m to another team, likely a contending team that Letang would agree to go and to and a team with cap space. just isn't that many teams that are viable trade partners. Almost sure Letang is lifer with the pens.
