I see the idea, I would not give that package up for Price though. Monahan is probably our most untouchable in my eyes.

Hard no from Calgary on that one. Bergevin could never get enough for Price to justify the PR hit he would take now because of his monstrous contract.

You can't build a winner with a 30 year old goalie who will cost you $10.5M per for the next 8 years.

Realistic package might be something like Brodie, Brouwer (to make the $ work), Kylington, and Dube.

Calgary wouldn’t do that in a million years. The Habs are pretty much stuck with price for the next 8 years.

Agreed, Montreal likes to give out long term contracts only to regret them. Deal with it, Price is your baby for the next 8 years.

As are Weber and Alzner. Long term, big $$$$, or not in vogue for players who will be in the 30s.

Unfortunately Price has a full NMC. Its not whether MB can trade him or not. Its whether Price wants to play somewhere else. Which he'll get to choose.

Price with current contract and no NMC, is tradeable. With an NMC makes it virtually impossible to find a trading partner that makes all parties happy in a trade.

Like I know the contract is bad an the habs would need to eat a chunk or either take a bad contract but it’s absurd to think that the best return for price if he was traded to Calgary is Dube kylington Brodie and Brouwer for the best goalie in the world.... Calgary is in desperate need for a real goalie and as long as I am concerned look at the king and rinne they are 35+ and are still producing...... granted price isn’t having his best year but we all know what he is capable of.... undefeated with team canada and has won numerous awards (HART) so if you think 2 b prospects with Brodie and a duster like Brouwer can lands you an elite goaltender like price I think you are grossly underestimating his value
