My feeling is I think it might just be the best thing to cancel the deal at this point.
I agree that you have offered to remove what you see as value for one of the pieces, but that leaves us at a point where we disagree on the remaining value.
Please take that into account and consider agreeing to have the entire deal removed.
I still feel the best thing to do at this point is to cancel the deal.
The BOE asked us to try and find a compromise but I'm not sure we will.
I'm sorry but I stand behind my feelings and hope you will respect that.

I hope you respect my feelings that if we remove the problems the deal should still stand.

You're right, and I do respect your side of the discussion.
You have offered to remove the 2018 2nd & 5th round picks in lieu of Max Jones. But considering you didn't own the 2nd rd pick to start with you can't take that back, and considering I didn't own Max Jones we are working pieces that never should have been included in the original deal. And that changes everything.
I strongly feel the best thing to do is just have the deal voided by the BOE and we just admit to each side making errors in the original trade.

I just think we should remove the two pieces and the deal is good to go.
I feel like you are not trying to make a solution.
I don't think we will come to a solution.
Looking back at all the talk we had prior to the deal being completed, everything in terms of players and picks I ask for to be included you continually said NO, but you kept wanting me to add more on my end.
I'm pretty sure you have all of our original communication around this deal as do I, and if the board wants to see it I'm comfortable sharing that if it helps resolve this.
You weren't willing to add players I wanted included, yet insisted that I keep adding players on my end of things.
So given that as a history I doubt there's anything you're willing to give up on your end, so the best solution is just have the entire deal erased.
I think at this point each of us has stated what we would like in terms of rectifying this issue and since we don't agree I feel it's better left to the BOE at this time to decide for us.

"In recognition of this, it is between New Jersey and Anaheim to find a compromise solution to this issue. If no agreement can be made on how to fix this, you may bring this case to the BOE for guidance or a ruling"
I have stated multiple times I am willing to try and come up with a comprise that benefits for each team.
I have given a fair deal which is just removing Max Jones and the 2nd rounder from the trade, as they have equal value.
You continue to insist on a complete trade reset, which I am completetly in disagreement.

I'd be in complete disagreement too if I ripped someone off and wanted to keep the good assets
I am okay removing Max Jones and removing the 2nd and 5th round picks.
That would make the trade fair, since that is approx. the value of Max Jones

First you said remove Jones + 2nd & 5th picks.
Now you're saying Jones + 2nd rd pick.
So which is it??
This is exactly what I'm talking about. You only want to deal if you get the most out of it.
It's a typical pattern of how the original deal was built. I asked for one thing, you'd say no but if I add it's OK.
That's not operating or dealing in good faith in my eyes. That's taking advantage of someone brand new to the game.
And with what would be remaining I don't see the deal as being even or of fair value.
So I'll explain how I see this ending in "fair value'.
Consider Josh Mahura = Michael Matheson + 2019 1st rd pick
Oliver Ekman-Larsson = 2018 1st rd pick +2019 2nd rd pick + Ryan Hartman + Brett Seney
Please, this is my final offer to resolve this. We're clearly at an impass.
You do not accept my solution to cancel the entire deal, and I do not accept your offer to simply drop Jones and 2 picks.
I've provided my counter proposal as to what I see as fair value. If you disagree then we will never agree it seems.
That's because you're gonna try to rip him off regardless. Don't think we haven't been paying attention to how you interact with literally every GM on this site.

Those are my changes offered. At this point you are just dragging this out in hopes it goes away.
You made suggestions for changes. I did not agree.

We don't agree so it needs to end right here and allow the board to decide each of our fates on this.
If any of the BOE members see this, could you please interject and take the final decision out of both our hands.
Regardless of the final decision it would be nice for both GM's to know how they can approach the final days of January.

Both GMs have the right to refuse a restructured deal as both teams had pieces they did not own involved in the deal. It takes two sides to make a deal. If there is not agreement by both sides a deal cannot happen. As far as i can see, this matter is closed. No deal. Both of you regain a January trade.

Does this mean we both move the original pieces back to their respective teams via "revert trade" on our team pages minus the pieces neither of us owned to begin with?

If you get Lindholm back then Boston would be interested in him and we have Krug (competent offensive LHD) to offer as a replacement in the deal. I'm not sure what else you'd be looking for, but we do have some other stuff we'd be willing to add from our side. Probably add Spooner from our side for Vermette from your side, then a prospect from our side. You'd get your W younger, faster, point producer and wouldn't lose much other than Lindholm.

Thank you, this does sound interesting. However Lindholm is not one of the pieces I get back.
Plus I tried in the past to make a deal for Krug but the asking price was too high and there was no mention of add ons from your side.
Not saying it'll never happen, but it's something the BOS management team would ned to discuss.
Just to be curious. I saw you comment in another thread that you value Krug as a #3 D is that correct?
Vermette, Miller (50% retained), Fiore and Montreal 4th in 2018 for Kevin Roy, Schlemko, Prince, a 3rd in 2018 and a 5th in 2019?
I tried to keep the cap balanced, as well as the number of contracts. I'm also giving you an extra pick, while upgrading you to a 3rd, and returning two young players to make up for Fiore and Vermette, who's just a rental.
Bumping this as a reminder so you have a chance to look at it before Feb 1st. If it looks good, cool. If you see any issues let me know.

Hey how are you. thanks for the reminder. However I may no longer need Schlemko, but am curious if you might a switch out of a couple pieces and still keep it intact.
So my new idea for you to consider would look like this....
Going your way.....
Vermette + Miller (0% retained) + Fiore + 2018 4th(MTL)
Coming my way.....
Eric Staal + Brandon Tanev + 2018 3rd
Salary is a diff of roughly 200K
Look it over and let me know if you have any suggestions on this.

Trying to improve my main roster, and that's a downgrade. Won't be moving either Staal or Tanev (Tanev because he's more valuable to my team than he would ever be in trade, Staal I wouldn't trade for that entire package.)
My idea was to give you those younger players and improve your pick stock. You were low on LHD at the time and I need to make the cap work, so Schlemko made sense as well.
If Schlemko is no longer a consideration, I can only fit one of those players. I'd be looking at a forward first, so Vermette is a possibility, depending on the price, but I may have to look at cheaper options, so I can squeeze in an additional upgrade.
You took out all of the players I offered, and Vermette isn't worth a 3rd to me, so I don't really know where to go from here lol.

I respect that, and was only offering an option. I didn't know where you stood on the players I chose to insert.
So if I no longer have a need for Schlemko in the original proposal, what would you offer as a replacement for him if everything else stayed the same.
