where did you hear this "rumor"?

Some guy on the radio apparently said it. He’s not credible.

I heard it from another radio. They said they would rather go for Price then Pacioretty. And that MTL would have to retain some $$$ in order to make the trade happen.

Mine was on 91.9 in the MTL area... and reported on all blogs on habs beat of course lol. You can listen to the record in French here

i'm a huge Allen fan , he's representing NB all by himself (well Couturier was raised here close enough i suppose)
my point is i wouldnt make this trade.

That counter offer would be amazing for the habs.. don't like taking salary back on Hutton but maybe st. Louis can trade Allen to another team in a 3 way trade

If Price really wanted to Play for a Winner he wouldn't have re-signed with Montreal. He is never waving his no trade clause even if I wish he would.
Money wise he is set for life. He has a gold medal. Life could be worse. Can you imagine telling your wife you waived your no trade clause to move to St. Louis.

Cap would be a problem this year for the Blues. and next. and all the years of that contract.

Well in all fairness, I see a lot of STL blues fans talking about Tavares as an option next year. If they can afford him they can afford Price. (Not justifying the trade but the cap can be worked out)

STL has plenty of cap coming off the books this year, the cap is rising, plus any Price deal would be sending a guy like Allan back our way which is ~4M so I think STL could make it work if they really wanted to.

I think Allen at 4.35 is more valuable than Price at 10.5. Yes obviously Price is far superior, but Allen is no slouch. He is a bit of a headcase but Price isn't immune to those lapses either. The point is, I think the 6.15 extra we have with Allen could get a damn good defenceman that would give less quality shots, or a Top 6 forward that would provide more points, giving Allen more goal support. There is no one on the Habs that is worth Thomas and a 1st alone TO THE BLUES, let alone our young starting goalie as well. I think Pacioretty/Galchenyuk could fetch a close return but they are not what we need so their value is perceived as low to STL.

919 is my favorite radio by far but they like to start rumors... Bergevin would not trade him right now and if he does I think hes gonna get less than that... (Remember Luongo)

Elliott Friedman just said that according to Marc Bergevin both Carey Price and Victor Mete are untouchable, I i'll believe it when i see it.
